'The most insane thing,' says Eurovision winner Nemo from Switzerland | ABS-CBN News
Switzerland on Saturday won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Swedish host city Malmo, beating runner-up Croatia, after having been among bookmakers' top-three to win the competition.
Swiss rapper and singer Nemo, 24, won the contest with "The Code", a drum-and-bass, opera, rap and rock song, about Nemo's journey of self-discovery as a non-binary person.
Croatia's Baby Lasagna, real name Marko Purisic, 28, came second with "Rim Tim Tagi Dim”. Israel's Eden Golan, 20, finished fifth in the contest despite demonstrators' calls for a boycott of the country.
Twenty-five countries competed in the final after Dutch artist Joost Klein was expelled earlier on Saturday (May 11) due to a complaint filed by a production crew member. -- Report from Reuters

* AI ("Artificial Intelligence") subtitles on Tagalog.com are generated using "Whisper" by OpenAI (the same company that created ChatGPT and DallE2). Results and accuracy may vary.
* The subtitles do include errors occasionally and should only be used as a tool to help with your listening practice.
* You can request this website to create a transcript for a video if one doesn't already exist by clicking the "Request AI Subtitles" button below a video. Transcribing usually takes 30-40% of the length of a video to complete if there are no other videos in
the queue. For example, a 21 minute video will take 7-8 minutes to transcribe.
* Running a super fast cloud GPU server to do these transcriptions does cost money. If you have the desire and financial ability, consider

Just to be a part of it was special and to know that a song that has changed my life
00:34.5
and a song where I just speak about my story has touched so many people
00:40.7
and maybe inspired other people to stay true to their story

is the most insane thing that has ever happened to me.

I have to say this whole experience was really intense
01:05.7
and not just pleasant all the way.
01:09.7
There were a lot of things that didn't seem like it was all about love and unity
01:19.1
and that made me really sad.
01:23.5
And at the same time,
01:25.3
I'm just, there was so much love here as well
01:30.6
and there was so much coming together
01:33.3
and there were so many different cultures meeting
01:36.7
and people that just are full of positivity, love for music
01:43.7
and that really gave me hope.
01:48.3
Intense and not just pleasant all the way.

work to create such an environment

and we need to ask ourselves
01:58.6
what is such an environment and what do we want to stand for
02:01.8
and I really hope that Eurovision continues
02:05.8
and can continue to stand for peace
02:09.4
and love in the future.
02:14.7
I think that needs a lot of work still.
