01:03.7
Yes, Ron. Halfway through its voyage, the Atinto Coalition said they have already achieved its major objectives.
01:10.4
This includes conducting a peace and solidarity regatta, deploying symbolic buoys and markers,
01:16.0
and distributing fuel and food packs to Filipino fishermen.
01:19.1
Early into the journey, volunteers deployed the buoys.
01:22.5
At the end of the journey, the Atinto Coalition said they have already achieved its major objectives.
01:24.5
The West Philippine Sea, Atin Ito, or This Is Ours.
01:28.2
Several fishermen also received food packs and fuel from the volunteers.
01:32.7
The captain of one of the main vessels said he is elated to be part of the mission.
01:37.6
They are also saying that they are happy with joining it because they will be able to contribute to the success of the mission.
01:47.3
The Sinok fishermen, who are also most affected in the Scarborough Shoal disputes,
01:51.6
also joined the mission.
01:52.4
They are also saying that they are happy with joining it because they will be able to contribute to the success of the mission.
01:52.5
They are also saying that they are happy with joining it because they will be able to contribute to the success of the mission.
01:52.7
They are also saying that they are happy with joining it because they will be able to contribute to the success of the mission.
01:54.0
They said that fear will always be there, but they will always be standing to become passionate for this issue.
02:01.1
Especially that they have to protect this because this is an issue that affects them as fishermen.
02:07.0
They are also calling for respect to the decision of the UN clause.
02:12.0
Meanwhile, we also have the Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson saying that we are not provoking China.
02:20.8
Are we provoking them? Are we escalating the tension? No. They are the ones escalating the tension.
02:30.9
I think it's a wrong lens to see that the civil society is the one provoking China.
02:36.7
This is a civil society movement. And they are just enjoying what is written on the international law
02:44.4
and what are entitled to them as Filipino people.
02:47.7
Ron, we are still at the middle of the sea and we are expected to arrive in Scarborough Shoal
02:54.0
if left unimpeded by tomorrow morning. Ron?
02:57.3
Gervais, so far, no indications of threats or disturbances to the mission of Atenito?
03:03.9
So far, none, Ron, because we are still quite near to the mainland.
03:09.1
We are expected to voyage overnight.
03:12.9
And up until this moment, we have not seen any Chinese vessel so far.
03:17.7
Gervais Manahan with our top story. Thank you very much, Gervais. Stay safe.
03:22.9
Philippine Senator Sherwin Gatchalian files a bill seeking to reform and reorganize the Philippine Coast Guard.
03:30.2
The measure also aims to strengthen its capacities amid continuing aggression of Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea.
03:38.5
Gatchalian noted gaps in the organizational structure and administration of the PCG,
03:43.9
which have negatively affected its operations.
03:47.3
The senator said,
03:47.7
The senator earlier filed a separate bill seeking to modernize the assets and facilities of the Coast Guard.
03:56.4
The Philippine Senate set to investigate the alleged wiretapping of a top Philippine military official by the Chinese embassy.
04:04.8
China claims it has audio recording of Western Mindanao Command Chief Alberto Carlos
04:09.5
speaking with a Chinese diplomat about a supposed deal on a union show.
04:14.9
Philippine officials have denied such a conversation.
04:19.0
Senator Tolentino says if proven that the wiretapping did happen,
04:23.3
the government can expel the diplomat involved.
04:28.5
This can be proven that there was indeed wiretapping.
04:33.3
We can expel the diplomat concerned.
04:37.0
We can ask the Chinese embassy to expel the said diplomat.
04:42.0
And we can even declare him as a persona non grata.
04:47.7
This is very serious.
04:48.8
We can expel even non-diplomatic staff members of the Chinese embassy.
04:55.9
We can reduce their staff.
04:59.8
Meanwhile, in that same interview on Dateline Philippines,
05:03.5
Senator Tolentino confirmed that he will seek re-election in the 2025 midterm polls.
05:11.0
Moving on, former Philippine Senator Antonio Trillanes asserts
05:15.3
he has enough proof to pin.
05:17.4
former Duterte administration spokesman Harry Roque
05:20.5
for libel and cyber libel.
05:23.2
Trillanes sued Roque and several pro-Duterte vloggers Tuesday.
05:27.1
The former senator said Roque falsely accused him
05:30.9
of selling the Scarborough show to China in 2012
05:33.9
when he was assigned to hold back channel talks with Beijing.
05:38.3
Trillanes points out it was the Duterte administration
05:41.7
that had a secret deal with Beijing.
05:47.4
I wasn't the one who sold it.
05:50.0
Then I explained how we were able to get the ships of China out of that time.
06:00.8
It was totally baseless.
06:03.5
But he said, brazenly, that a few weeks ago,
06:11.0
the secret agreement with China came out.
06:16.5
That's where it came out.
06:18.9
What China said, our secret agreement there with the Duterte administration.
06:27.4
In response, Attorney Harry Roque says,
06:30.4
by filing libel cases,
06:32.6
Trillanes has proven himself to be an enemy of freedom of expression.
06:37.1
He adds the former senator is seeking to rewrite history in his favor
06:40.8
since he claims the Philippines did lose physical possession of Scarborough.
06:46.5
Philippine Interior Secretary Benher Abalos highlights gains
06:52.3
in the Marcos administration's anti-narcotics campaign
06:55.2
at a United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice event.
07:00.1
There, Abalos reported the government has seized over $587 million
07:04.4
in prohibited drugs in just the first two years of the current administration.
07:09.8
Abalos attributed this success to their holistic crime prevention approach,
07:14.3
which he says is rooted in...
07:16.5
community engagement.
07:18.6
The Marcos administration's claim of a bloodless anti-drug campaign
07:22.4
is in stark contrast to the drug war waged by its predecessor,
07:26.7
Rodrigo Duterte, which officially left over 6,000 dead.
07:33.1
A lawyer working with the International Criminal Court
07:36.4
in its investigation into the Duterte drug war believes
07:40.0
it's only a matter of time before the ICC summons or orders
07:44.6
the arrest of the former president.
07:46.5
ICC Assistant to Counsel Atty. Christina Conte says
07:50.5
the court is now determining who is the most responsible
07:54.0
for the bloody anti-narcotics campaign.
07:57.1
There have been reports former police chiefs under the Duterte administration
08:01.4
are also part of the ICC's investigation.
08:07.4
We've already established during the preliminary examination
08:11.2
that crimes against humanity occur in the Philippines.
08:13.9
The Philippine government said,
08:16.5
you forgo the investigation, defer it, because we will investigate.
08:22.2
Later on, the ICC says, what kind of investigation are you doing?
08:25.6
You're doing 52 cases?
08:27.8
Ah, we'll step in again.
08:28.9
And so it started technically in September 2021,
08:33.2
re-approved again in January 2023.
08:37.9
And it's been too long.
08:39.6
So I think at this point, they have their finger on things already.
08:44.9
And the name of President Duterte,
08:46.5
has been there in the OTP,
08:50.0
in the Office of the Prosecutor Documents,
08:55.0
He's been named as someone who has enabled, at the least,
08:58.9
tolerated, or even ordered, or encouraged these killings.
09:03.9
And so it's not just me who's saying that President Duterte
09:07.6
will likely be looked into.
09:10.2
At the minimum, there will be someone's issue.
09:13.2
But at the maximum, I think really,
09:15.2
there will be a warrant of arrest.
09:16.5
Meanwhile, Conti denies the claim of columnist Rigoberto Tiglao.
09:23.4
She's being paid 8 million pesos per year
09:26.1
to help the ICC gather evidence against Duterte.
09:32.8
I am not gathering dirt specifically against President Duterte.
09:37.9
I was asked by the victims to figure out what happened to the killings
09:42.3
and how to connect the killings to the statements of President Duterte.
09:46.7
What I will admit is,
09:49.1
when we first submitted a communication to the International Criminal Court,
09:53.2
this was in August 2018,
09:55.0
we submitted transcripts of the statements of the President
09:58.9
with regard to the war on drugs.
10:00.5
This is publicly available.
10:02.6
And, I mean, if there is dirt at all,
10:04.9
it comes from Duterte's side.
10:06.5
What we just did was put together all this information
10:09.9
and make it available to the Office of the Prosecutor.
10:14.7
As to the paid part,
10:16.6
I think they're just reading too many novels.
10:21.7
Former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa
10:24.7
expected to attend the next Senate hearing
10:27.0
into the alleged leak of confidential documents
10:29.4
from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
10:32.4
The documents, which have not been presented in previous Senate hearings,
10:36.2
allegedly mentioned high-profile personalities,
10:38.8
including then-Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
10:41.9
in anti-illegal drug operations.
10:44.3
Senator Ronald de la Rosa,
10:45.9
the chairman of the Philippine Government,
10:46.5
and the chairman of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs,
10:48.7
says he intends to end the inquiry next week.
10:52.8
Now, this comes amid criticisms even from his fellow senators
10:55.8
that the proceedings have so far yielded nothing but hearsay testimonies.
11:01.1
No less than President Marcos has called the main witness,
11:03.8
former PIDEA agent Jonathan Morales,
11:06.2
a professional liar.
11:10.3
Philippine opposition figures,
11:12.1
such as former Senators Laila de Lima and Francis Pangilinan,
11:15.5
remain giants in the political arena.
11:18.8
That's according to Dean Tapia of the University of Makati.
11:22.5
Tapia believes the Lima and Pangilinan have big chances
11:25.2
of entering the Magic 12 in the 2025 Senate polls.
11:30.0
But he says their possible wins will be credited
11:32.6
to their own name and identity
11:34.6
instead of their membership in the Liberal Party.
11:38.1
He also believes the LP should forge alliances with other parties
11:41.9
and field alternative candidates who share their ideals.
11:45.5
For LP spokesperson Laila de Lima,
11:48.4
their new party list, the Mamamayang Liberal,
11:51.1
could help expand their base in the upcoming polls.
11:57.0
Well, that is one way or one mode
12:00.1
by which we can really expand the base also of the Liberal Party.
12:03.8
But the Mamamayang Liberal is actually,
12:07.3
it has a separate personality than the Liberal Party.
12:12.9
But it is considered to be a sectoral,
12:15.5
a wing, or a sectoral organization of the Liberal Party.
12:19.8
And that is not the first time.
12:21.2
That is not unusual.
12:22.1
Because what I know is that PDP-LABAS,
12:26.2
I mean, PDP-LABAS, and not just PDP as it is now,
12:30.6
has its also sectoral wing called the PDP-CARE.
12:35.4
Now this ML, the Mamamayang Liberal,
12:39.6
is also the sectoral wing or sectoral organization
12:43.2
of the Liberal Party.
12:45.5
And it is also a regional party list.
12:51.3
The Philippine poll body drops a separate substitution period
12:55.1
for election candidates.
12:57.1
Now this means the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy
13:00.0
and the withdrawal and substitution of candidates
13:02.4
will now be held during the same period.
13:05.9
For the 2025 midterm elections,
13:08.0
this will happen from October 1 to 8.
13:10.4
The Kamalak has traditionally held separate periods
13:13.8
for the filing of COCs,
13:15.5
and substitution.
13:17.3
But in recent election cycles,
13:19.0
the timeline had become an avenue for political parties
13:22.2
to put so-called placeholder candidates
13:24.9
with the intention of substituting them before the deadline.
13:29.5
Infamously, former President Rodrigo Duterte
13:31.6
was a substitute candidate of PDP-LABAS,
13:34.3
which initially fielded Martin Diño.
13:38.7
Nearly a year after it was approved at the committee level,
13:42.3
the proposed SOGI-SE equality bill,
13:45.5
has reached the House plenary.
13:47.4
On Tuesday, sponsors of the measure,
13:49.5
including lawmakers Geraldine Roman and Arlene Brosas,
13:52.9
delivered privileged speeches for the bill
13:54.9
with groups from the LGBTQIA plus community in attendance.
14:00.4
Roman says while executive orders and local ordinances are welcome,
14:04.7
those are not enough to protect members of the community
14:07.2
from discrimination.
14:08.9
But she stopped short of categorically asking the president
14:12.5
to certify the measure as urgent.
14:15.5
I would want him to certify it,
14:20.9
but I do realize that there are other issues
14:25.0
that are more urgent,
14:26.6
like the prices of our basic commodities like rice,
14:31.9
the increase in the prices of utilities like water,
14:37.7
ang ating mga problema sa transportation sector.
14:41.0
Those are very important
14:42.2
because it's a matter of life and death,
14:44.0
which is not to say na hindi,
14:45.4
importante ang pagkilala sa dignidad at karapatan ng mga Pilipino
14:51.5
kasama na dyan ang LGBTQ plus community.
14:55.1
Meron tayong 77 LGUs with anti-discrimination ordinances,
14:59.7
especially in big cities,
15:01.0
but we do not have a national law,
15:02.8
which begs the question,
15:04.1
if local government units are capable of recognizing this need
15:09.3
to fight discrimination,
15:11.7
bakit nilang minkaya sa national level?
15:15.4
The last time the Sogi Bill reached the House plenary
15:20.5
with all lawmakers eventually voting in favor of the measure.
15:24.5
But it languished in Congress yet again
15:27.4
due to stiff opposition from various groups.
15:32.4
House lawmakers defend their push to amend the Rice Tarification Law.
15:36.8
The lower chamber passed amendments to the measure
15:38.8
on second reading Tuesday night.
15:41.0
But Philippine senators are rejecting the proposal,
15:43.5
which seeks to restore the power
15:45.3
of the Constitution.
15:45.4
The National Food Authority to import and sell rice
15:48.7
when prices are high or when there are shortages.
15:52.2
They fear this would lead to more corruption in the agency.
15:56.7
But the Vice Chairperson of the House Panel on Agriculture
15:59.3
urges her colleagues at the Senate
16:00.9
to consider the chamber's position.
16:05.3
What is their option?
16:06.9
Yan ang tanong ko.
16:08.3
Sana mapag-usapan nila.
16:09.6
Nagdaan po kami sa napakaraming oras
16:11.7
ng pagdinig dito sa mga amendments na to.
16:14.7
And of course, we recognize and we realize
16:19.0
that trust is an important issue,
16:21.3
especially sa pag-carry out ng mandate ng NFA.
16:26.3
So I think the senators should also come up
16:29.0
with an option sa Kongreso
16:30.4
na isanin sanang empowering NFA.
16:33.3
If we have to weed out corrupt officials within the NFA,
16:40.4
The Philippine government vowing its preparedness
16:43.6
for the looming lockdowns.
16:44.7
The country which is still grappling with the effects
16:47.9
of the El Niño phenomenon
16:49.1
is expected to face La Niña in the third quarter.
16:53.0
The weather event could bring above normal rainfall conditions
16:56.4
that could lead to floods and landslides.
16:59.5
But the Interior Department is calling for calm,
17:02.2
saying local government units have already been guided
17:05.4
on the implementation of safety measures amid La Niña.
17:11.9
Ilan lamang sa mga hagbangin na kinakailangan
17:14.6
ang gawin ng ating mga lokal na pamalat.
17:16.4
Kung darating man ang malalakas na bagyo at tag-ulan,
17:20.9
ay yung pag-pulot na nilang
17:24.3
Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils
17:26.8
at ang pagsagawa ng La Niña Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment,
17:31.3
yung sinasabi natin na PIDRA.
17:33.3
At kinakailangan din nila na i-update
17:35.3
yung kanilang Local Contingency Plans
17:38.7
or La Niño Action Plan.
17:40.3
At kinakailangan din na magkaroon ng close coordination
17:45.6
at with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources,
17:50.9
particularly yung ating Mines and Geosciences Bureau,
17:55.3
ma-update yung kanilang mga local hazard maps
17:58.5
on rain-induced landslides and floods.
18:05.0
Let's now check on the weather here in the Philippines
18:07.7
with pag-asa forecaster Lori de la Cruz.
18:12.6
Good afternoon, ma'am.
18:14.6
to all our viewers and listeners.
18:17.1
Cagayan, province, Batanes, and Apaya
18:19.9
will be cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms
18:23.4
due to the effect of the shear line.
18:25.7
For Metro Manila and the rest of the country,
18:27.7
we will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies
18:31.0
with chances of isolated passing rain showers or thunderstorms.
18:36.4
Meanwhile, we're not monitoring any tropical cyclone
18:39.2
inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility
18:41.3
and we don't have clear warning based over
18:43.9
any sea words of the country.
18:46.4
That's the latest for pag-asa.
18:47.7
This is Lori de la Cruz.
18:52.2
Up next, more Philippine airports could be up for privatization.
18:56.0
And a recap of today's market action.
18:58.5
More news when we return.
18:59.8

24:13.9
Okay, so remaining steady and even seeing some sort of appreciation as well as food prices continuing to come down and also on a sustained basis coming down.
24:25.3
Also, the latest MSCI quarterly review of stocks is out, showing ASIN Corporation in the list, while Cebu Air, SP New Energy, and Aboyte's Equity Ventures are out by May 31st.
24:39.4
We are in a holding pattern.
24:41.2
6-4 would be the base that we're trying.
24:43.9
We're trying to kind of create a better support.
24:47.2
But over the long-term perspective, we are definitely beyond the pandemic lows, and we think that we are improving.
24:54.9
Fundamentally, we are.
24:56.0
The earnings are showing it.
24:57.6
Now, a matter of being appreciated by investors in the stock market is a different thing, and that's what we're waiting for.

He also stressed the importance of private sector engagement in this endeavor.
28:20.2
We must pursue a comprehensive and all-encompassing strategy that will turn this trend around.

Giving the youth the right competencies and skills and training

is the only way for them to prevail and to prosper in this highly competitive world.
29:00.2
Our greatest obligation to them is to mold them into critical thinkers,
29:04.7
into problem solvers, into visionaries,
29:08.0
wielding the skills that will allow them to succeed in the future.
29:12.1
Without an education system,
29:13.3
without an educated workforce that will implement them,
29:15.8
any national economic blueprint will remain simply as that blueprint.

to engage both of the partners abroad
31:01.7

Singapore is set to inaugurate a new leader
33:57.2
after two decades.
34:39.2
Mobility will be key to recovery because we have relaxed some of our quarantine methods
34:51.8
and we have allowed more transportation to come out.
34:56.2
That's going to prove to be better for demand.
34:59.2
If we do follow the health protocols, the ability of people to move around will likely contribute better to growth.
35:09.2

The May 16-17 visit is Putin's first foreign trip after winning a new six-year term.
35:46.4
The Kremlin says during the visit, the two leaders will discuss Moscow's ongoing war with Kiev,
35:51.7
the tensions in the Middle East, as well as China's Belt and Road Initiative,
35:55.6
which is a global infrastructure development strategy by the Chinese government.
36:00.6
China and Russia declared a so-called No Limits Partnership in February 2022 when Putin last visited Beijing.
36:08.0
Days after that, Putin sent thousands of troops into Ukraine,
36:13.0
triggering the deadliest land war in Europe since World War II.
36:18.3
The United States vowing to use its power to seize Russian assets to help rebuild Ukraine.
36:25.3
The group of seven countries froze around $300 billion worth of Russian finances
36:31.3
soon after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
36:35.2
Since then, the EU and G7 countries,
36:38.0
have debated how and whether to use the funds to help Ukraine.
36:42.9
The U.S. has proposed seizing the assets in their entirety,
36:46.3
which Europe has opposed, citing risks to the euro and massive legal repercussions.
36:55.0
Our Congress has given us the power to seize Russian assets in the United States.
36:59.8
We intend to use it.
37:02.0
We're working with our G7 partners to see that Russia's immobilized sovereign assets
37:06.6
are used to rent them.
37:08.1
That news is to remedy the damage that Putin continues to cause.
37:12.0
The G7 can unlock billions of dollars and send a powerful message to Putin
37:16.3
that time is not on his side.
37:20.8
The United Nations alarmed by the escalation of military activity in Rafa.
37:25.8
According to residents, Israeli tanks have pushed deeper into neighborhoods in
37:30.0
the eastern part of the city.
37:32.2
Israeli operations in Rafa which started this month
37:35.8
have already closed a main crossing
37:37.8
for aid from the border with Egypt.
37:42.1
The Secretary General is appalled
37:44.1
by the escalation of military activity
37:46.2
in and around Rafah by the Israeli Defense Forces.
37:50.4
These developments are further impeding humanitarian access
37:53.8
and worsening an already dire situation.
37:57.5
At the same time,
37:58.9
Hamas goes on firing rockets indiscriminately.
38:02.5
Civilians must be respected and protected at all times
38:05.5
in Rafah and elsewhere in Gaza.
38:08.7
For people in Gaza, nowhere is safe now.
38:13.8
Qatar's Prime Minister also says
38:16.0
Israel's operations in Rafah have set back talks for a ceasefire.
38:20.5
But he vows Qatar would keep working to resolve the situation.
38:25.9
And especially in the past few weeks,
38:29.4
we have seen some momentum building,
38:31.2
but unfortunately things didn't move in the right direction
38:34.8
and we have seen some momentum building.
38:35.5
And unfortunately things didn't move in the right direction.
38:35.5
Right now, we are in a status of almost a stalemate.
38:42.3
Of course, what happened with Rafah has set us backward.
38:49.0
Rafah is a refuge to more than a million civilians
38:52.2
displaced by the seven-month war.
38:54.9
But Israel firmly believes it is the last stronghold of Hamas.
39:01.0
The U.S. unveils steep tariff hikes on Chinese imports,
39:05.1
including the U.S. military's military presence in Gaza.
39:05.5
Including e-vehicles, computer chips, and medical products.
39:09.4
The sweeping measure will affect $18 billion worth of Chinese imported goods.
39:14.9
The White House says this is in response to China's unfair trade practices,
39:19.7
which have flooded global markets with artificially low-priced exports.
39:24.1
But U.S. President Joe Biden says
39:26.1
Washington only wants fair competition with Beijing, not conflict.
39:32.4
Because we're not going to let China flood our market,
39:37.4
making it impossible for American auto manufacturers to compete fairly.
39:43.0
We're also implementing a 25% tariff on electric vehicle batteries from China
39:47.4
and a 25% tariff on critical minerals that make those batteries.
39:51.5
Folks, look, I'm determined that the future of electric vehicles
39:55.1
will be made in America by union workers. Period.
39:58.5
We're in a stronger position to win that economic competition in the 21st century against China.
40:02.4
Than anyone else, because we're investing in America again, in American workers.
40:09.7
As for China, it immediately vowed retaliation.
40:13.8
Beijing says it opposes the tariff hikes and would take measures to defend its interests.
40:21.0
After two decades in power, Lee Hsien Loong is stepping down as Singapore's Prime Minister today.
40:27.5
Lee is the eldest son of Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's first Prime Minister,
40:31.3
who turned the world around.
40:32.4
A resource-poor city set into one of the world's richest nations.
40:36.8
For a political analyst, a younger Lee's tenure has also been significant.
40:43.5
It has been a successful 20 years as Prime Minister.
40:49.6
The economic and fiscal transformation of Singapore
40:52.5
is one very obvious difference between 2004 when it took over
41:02.4
But I think his rule was also one in which he sought to pursue
41:13.0
a kinder, gentler, and more compassionate Singapore.
41:20.2
Taking over Lee's deputy, Lawrence Wong,
41:23.5
who will become the island nation's fourth leader since independence.
41:27.7
Wong's inauguration takes place this evening.
41:32.4
Switching gears now, a Filipino-Canadian double amputee adds fashion modeling to his growing list of accomplishments.
41:40.6
Rowena Papasin tells us more.
41:45.4
Double amputee Aristotle Domingo is not one to let his disability get in the way of living his best life.
41:52.9
The Filipino-Canadian's left leg was amputated in 2017 due to a blood infection,
41:58.5
while his right leg was also amputated two years later.
42:01.8
But for Domingo, losing both his legs pushed him to live an even more active life as a runner and a para-athlete.
42:09.5
In the years that followed, he also became a commercial model, an actor, and now a fashion model.
42:14.7
So I became a double baloney amputee, and since then my life has really taken off.
42:20.3
I'm an athlete now, I'm a national classified athlete, I'm an actor,
42:23.5
and now I'm apparently taking on the modeling world with walking the Vancouver Fashion Week.
42:28.2
And I found a way to think about it in a positive light.
42:31.8
And I think that just opened up to all of these experiences which I am thankful and blessed for.
42:35.9
Domingo recently walked the runway for All Else, a maker and designer of prosthetic covers for amputees.
42:42.5
All Else, led by its founders Macaulay Wanner and Ryan Palibroda,
42:46.8
also worked with its amputee models on apparel that fit their personalities.
42:51.4
It also designed new covers for him for this event.
42:54.7
The amputee models and the designers were met with a standing ovation after their show.
42:59.5
They really worked with us.
43:01.8
In terms of, you know, what our styles were, in a simple questionnaire.
43:06.1
And so, yeah, they really thought of who we are as people, and showcasing their art through us.
43:11.3
Domingo has a very full schedule.
43:13.5
He does commercial modeling, he is training for his next Paralympics,
43:18.1
all while auditioning for roles in TV and movies.
43:21.5
A couple of ads coming out this year, you know, hoping to get a, you know, in a movie or a TV series this year as well.
43:27.8
So just constantly working and auditioning, you know, hopefully the experience,
43:31.8
with Vancouver Fashion Week will hopefully open me up more to maybe doing that more, a little bit more full-time.
43:38.6
The Phil Canadian is also a regular 5K runner in Toronto and has even run in London.
43:44.4
He says he was determined to turn his life around after both his legs were amputated
43:49.3
in order to inspire others like him who face challenges each day because of their disability.
43:56.0
His hope? To make them realize that there's a full life waiting for them if they so choose.
44:01.8
I was told I was never going to walk again, and now I am actually walking on two legs, albeit prosthetics.
44:09.7
And to represent people like myself in media, whether that's in fashion, the way that we're doing it now,
44:15.5
in commercials, in print, and in movies, it's really a way for me to showcase that we are just part of society,
44:22.1
and we have to be represented and seen out there.
44:24.5
Rowena Papasin, ABS-CBN News, Vancouver.

45:30.4
I feel like this is...
45:31.8
One of the biggest goals that you want.
45:35.5
And I started content creation two years ago, and I'm here.

It's basically out of passion and just to have fun in the kitchen.
46:02.1
Now I have this platform where the world is looking at my, you know, the world is looking at the videos that I do.
