Hello! My name is Gunther1954. I am from Lincoln, NE and I am a Beginner Filipino language student.
I am studying the Filipino language because my wife is from Majayjay Laguna Philippines, and we have a lot of Filipino friends. I also want to be able to interact in Tagalog especially when my wife and I visit the Philippines. Someday, if I can talk my wife into it, I want to retire in the Philippines.

Since I have begun a Tagalog class, my wife is beginning to teach me Tagalog phrases.

I tried to get my wife to teach me, but she refuses. She feels her teaching me would cause problems. She wants me to find a teacher.

My wife has been helpful. At this point, she is supplementing what I am learning. Once I begin depending on this website, I think she will be able to help me even more.
