Hello!

My name is Marc. I am from France and I am a Beginner Filipino language student.
I am studying the Filipino language because I am working on board vessels, and some of the people I am working with are Filipino. I just want to be able to chat with them in their native language.
I am also invited by them to the Philippines next January.

@Marc

Welcome! January is a good month to be here. The temperature is a lot cooler in January and February as compared to the other months in the year. There are also a lot of town festivities (fiestas) in January which will gives you the opportunity to experience Filipino culture and traditions.

@Tagamanila,

Magabdang gabi!

Naniniwal ko na taga-Pilipina ka, kaya sinusubukan ko na magsalita lamang ng Tagalog sa iyo...
Maraming salamat sa iyong mensahe!

(I believe you are from the Philippines, so I try to speak with you only inTagalog. Thank you very much for your message!)

@Marc

Tama ka Marc, taga-Pilipinas at taga-Manila ako. 😀

"Naniniwala ko na..." uses the verb "maniwala". The "ma" prefix is tricky because it is used for both subject-focus and object-focus verbs. In this case, "maniwala" is subject-focus and because of that, the actor "you" has to be the subject pronoun "ako". "Ko" is the form you use with an object-focus verb.

Naniniwala AKO na... = I believe that ...

Magandang hapon,

Maraming salamat sa iyong sagot.
Alam ko tungkol sa "ako" at "ko", pero sa palagay ko na masyadong mabilis nagsulat ako!

(I knew about "ako" and "ko", but I think I wrote too fast!)
