Beta: Customize your TLDC dictionary

Hello all! We've added a new feature for the TLDC dictionary.

You can now add your own entries to the dictionary. These entries will show up in your own private dictionary search results along with the regular dictionary entries. This is a good way to add words that you've researched that haven't yet been added to the TLDC dictionary.

It's also a good way to contribute to the TLDC project if you want to help. Your entries will be reviewed periodically and if approved they'll be published to the public database for everyone to see!

You can try it out by going to Dictionary => Customize Your Dictionary
...or use this link:

@akosikoneho
@leosmith -- Thanks for sparking the idea. This will be the best way to add entries to the dictionary, instead of the thread you had created earlier.

Looks good, however I'm quite satisfied with the words already offered. The UP dict or my virtual copy of the Father English dict would work in the rare case I encounter a word not listed in TLDC!

Thanks, @akosikoneho !

The script I have that analyses Tagalog text shows that our dictionary currently has around 96-98% exact match coverage for mosts words in most texts (including all the common misspellings and slang). I’d like to eventually get that coverage consistently up to 98-99%, if possible. Of course that last 1-2% is actually a very big job because it’s a whole bunch of less common words. But less-common words are what people use dictionaries for, so I think it’s still important! We’ll get there with consistent progress over the next year or two...

Great implementation !

Thanks, @Lennie !

@akosikoneho Since the fathers dict is now defunct I would like to see it imported in to TLDC including every example sentence.

@AMBoy
The copyright is still in effect and people often sue in cases like this to earn a quick buck...copyright disputes are a really ugly part of the legal system, unfortunately...
