Question: 'Studying' button - what does it do?
What is the purpose of the new 'Studying' button that appears next to words in the dictionary? Sorry if I'm being dumb, but it's not immediately obvious to me.

On the tabs located above the website there is a read tool located there. If you search for a word and you click the studying button it will add it to a study list. For example, you heard a word you never learned before, you can search it up and add it to your study list to study in the future until you know the word.

To use the tool,

Reader -> Study

you can add words from the dictionary or words based on the reader tool. Very useful for forming your own list aka creating your own study deck as opposed to using the flash cards section or exporting it into an anki deck.

@JohntheFinn
It’s in progress...@Lennie is right, it is going into the “Studying” list in the Reader, but the code needs to be fleshed out a bit more! If you haven’t checked out the Reader yet, you should! It’s pretty cool...nice way to quickly read Tagalog texts and keep track of your vocabulary growth.

@JohntheFinn

I recognize you from memrise! I've not done any of the courses you curate... but I know who you are welcome.

Thanks, guys. This site is really amazing. I've mostly used it for the excellent dictionary, which has solved a lot of problems for me. The way the site is growing and developing, I can see it will attract a fast-growing circle of users. I will spend more and more time here.

JohntheFinn curates (not sure if he is the original creator or not) several Tagalog courses. I've not used them but they are quite in depth. I too like Memrise. You can follow me there www.memrise.com/user /AkoSiKoneho/ although I rarely use it for Tagalog these days
