I have trouble pronouncing words that have 'gk' together. For instance, the word 'magkita', 'magkaroon', or 'magkasakit'. No matter how hard I try, the 'g'-sound gets drowned out, and it sounds like 'makita', 'makaroon', or 'makasakit'. Native Tagalog speakers can easily tell that I'm not pronouncing the 'g'-sound.
What is the best way to practice making the g sound more distinct?

For me, I just finally decided to bite off full conjugations...
And you get used to the double double of the consonant vowel of - for example KIta...
So the double double becomes KIkita....and if you get used to saying kikita...
The Mag-KIkita...gets stopped by the necessity to double the KI...
Which is kind of the long way to say...just view the mag as and added first syllable...not as a sound that gets mashed up into rest of the word.
Good luck.
